Summer Time Blues

Summer vacation is over and the summer season is almost over. Its been a long time since my last blog.

School has began for all three of us. Here is a summary of what each of us is doing.

Trent - Teaching Pre-Algebra to seventh graders - They make 8th grade students look like clear thinking, level headed adults. I know Molly was in 7th grade at one time, but love must have blinded me. They are the most bizzare group of students I have ever been associated with. They are nice kids, just lack any social filters. Helping with the statistics for the TC JV volleyball team.

Glenis - Teaching at Osborn School for the 19th year. 5th grade for about the 18th year. Lead teacher for her grade level.

Molly - Now a sophomore. Taking Algebra II, Cemistry, Band. She is on the JV Volleyball team, which is doing very well. She went back packing with friends and is currently returning from a high school girls retreat with the Monte Vista youth group. Molly has finished her driver's eduation class, that's the book learning part, and will be behind the wheel soon. She and I went out and drove a few weeks ago. She was NASCAR like.

Pinecrest Lake, May 2008

Hi Everyone,

We went to Pinecrest Lake the first week of the summer vacation. We joined our friends the Alameda's, Roos', Bishel's and Guftason's (young and old) for a great time. Fishing, boating (we rented a party boat one day), biking, and many other things. The weather was great. The friends were great. All had a great time. Take a look at the pics to feel as if you were a part of the adventure.

Molly and friends outside their cabin at Azusa University's Mexico campground. The staff stays in the cabins while the campers stay in tents. They were happy all the time apparently.

April Showers? Not Here

How's it going?

Yesterday was a hot one. The temperature got up to 94 degrees. Its to early for summer, but here it comes.

Molly is now playing varsity soccer at Turlock Christian High School. She is one of three freshman that play a lot. She is a mid-fielder and almost scored twice this last game. The team has a really good defense and a not so good offense. Their record in the Southern League is 2 wins 3 ties and 2 losses.

Molly went on a missions trip to Mexico over the Easter break with the high school group from our church (Monte Vista Chapel, Turlock, CA). She was part of the kitchen crew, cooking, cleaning, setting up, and preparing lunches for outreach teams. She had a great time.

Glenis is going to a Michael Buble concert with some of her friends in May. We are planning a trip to Pinecrest Lake in the Sierra's right after school is out and a trip to Portland in July.

Trent continues to teach math at Creekside Middle School in Patterson, CA (13 years) and Glenis is still teaching 5th grade at Osborn School in Turlock, CA (17 years). Molly is a freshman at Turlock Christian High School.

Valentine's Day - 2008

Love is in the air.

Welcome,

Its been awhile since my last blog. I'll try to give you an update. I look forward to your comments.

Tonight is Molly's final game of the basketball season. She plays JV basketball for Turlock Christian High School. They did great this year. After a tough preseason they won the Southern League JV Championship for the first time in the school's history. Their record is currently 13 wins and only 1 loss with a game tonight. I (Trent) was the stats guy for the team.

Update: They won their final game. Molly had 11 rebounds and 10 points. The team did great.

Here they are;

Molly went to homecoming and had a great time. They went to San Francisco with stops for dinner and a Cicus de sola performance.

In the Fall there was MORP. It is like a backwards prom. The girls ask the guys and the themes of the event very. This year's MORP had a "country" theme, as you can see from what the kids wore. There was line and other country style dances. Molly ask her friend Chase and they had a great time.
